St. Vincent’s Chilton Hospital replaced the county’s original facility, which closed in 2012, restoring full-service healthcare to the community. This three-story hospital features a 24-bed Medical/Surgical unit, a 6-bed ICU, a surgical suite, an emergency department, diagnostic and women’s imaging, physical therapy, and an outpatient clinic—all designed to deliver faith-based, state-of-the-art care.
Community connection was central to the hospital’s design. A welcoming reception area flows into a communal lounge and dining space with scenic views, while organic graphics and natural materials reflect Chilton County’s agricultural heritage. The chapel features stained-glass interpretations of local peach trees, and the second-floor surgery waiting area serves as a beacon at night and offers a peaceful retreat during the day.
