BPA redesigned and relocated the UAB School of Optometry’s Optical Shop to transform an inefficient lobby space into a streamlined, patient-centered retail and care environment. The new shop enhances the experience of patients and students by improving workflow efficiency, accessibility, and visibility within the building.
From check-in at the “triage” pods to the final fitting of prescription eyewear, the layout optimizes the selection and fitting process while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Large interior windows open sightlines into adjacent spaces, encouraging interaction and engagement. Thoughtful lighting design reinforces functionality, ensuring an optimal environment for precise optical care.
